<< 29 Tarsakh 1493 | 1 Mirtul 1493 >> ## 30 Tarsakh 1493 Ezmerelda got a prosthetic arm today. Also, it turns out that one of Yesper's new crushes is Skoll's ex-fiancé? Everyone is being normal about it, thankfully – not to say that it isn't an awkward situation. Only me, Skoll, and Nia accompanied Yesper to meet our new neighbors. Rictavio had "unfortunate, unavoidable" lunch plans with someone named "Mr. Darkmagic" (yes, really). According to Rictavio, Mr. Darkmagic is like "an eel wearing a human suit." Fun! As for Ezmerelda: Selise tasked Ireena to help her find a "secret gift" for Nia, and she recruited Ezmerelda to be their "bodyguard." Ezmerelda complained about it, but I could tell that she was kind of flattered. Anyway, Corellon's Crown is owned by a druid named Fala – and it certainly looks like a place owned by a druid. Yesper was happy to see Fala; Fala was happy too, and they seemed glad to receive the rest of us. There was a moth-like eladrin in the back of the shop. She was working on a potion as we entered, and she continued working until Fala insisted otherwise. But she stopped short when she turned around and saw Skoll. The eladrin thought that Skoll was Skoll's brother, which is when Skoll recognized them as Mani. Skoll struggled through communicating who he was – still, it was clear that Mani understood, because they got real angry, real fast. But she calmed down just as quickly. If I had to guess, the change in mood was because Mani could relate to what Skoll had been going through all those years ago; after all, Mani would be considered a fiancée these days, rather than a fiancé. So Mani seemed to get where Skoll was coming from when he left his old life behind. We let Skoll and Mani catch up; I busied myself with politely listening to Fala talk about plants on the other side of the shop. Eventually, Rictavio – a big fan of when things are as awkward as possible – showed up looking for Skoll. To his credit, he recognized that something was going on right away; he just shook Mani's hand when a somewhat distressed-looking Skoll introduced the two. We left shortly after that, thankfully. Mani was nice enough – Fala was too – but I think that everyone probably needs some time to process. Plus, Skoll invited them to dinner sometime (and they live like two doors down), so it's not like we'll never see them again. I'm glad that Skoll and Mani are getting the chance to reconnect and reconcile in any case; it's clear that Mani has been on Skoll's mind since he left Evermeet, and I'd wager that Skoll has been on Mani's mind as well. That said, it's crazy that the world is small enough for things like this to happen. I'm trying not to worry about the possibility of running into someone from *my* hometown – I've been telling myself how unlikely it is, but I can't ignore how often the circumstances of my life seem to defy the odds. The good news is that I doubt anyone would be able to recognize me at this point. The idea is more comforting than sad, but it's still a little sad, in a strange way. --- ## Page Tags/Properties **Tags:** #Journal **Category:** Journals and Writings **Character:** Krue **Campaign:** City of Eyes **Date (Harptos):** 04/30/1493
