<< 25 Tarsakh 1493 | 30 Tarsakh 1493 >> ## 29 Tarsakh 1493 We got to Waterdeep around midday today. The guards asked their usual questions at the gate. I denied that we had any spellcasters or magical weapons with us; I didn't really feel like sitting down to fill out several hours' worth of paperwork. Amelia split pretty much right away once we were in the city proper, but she did give Skoll her address before departing. Isabella had been slowly coming out of her shell on the trip to Waterdeep – she kept commenting on how many plants were around, and I think the greenery was doing her good – but she seemed to retreat inward as soon as we got into the city. She wanted to go to the house; we obliged. 12 Trollskull Alley is a pretty nice place – all three floors seem to have been well kept, somehow, and there are plenty of rooms. We hadn't been settled in for long when Yesper decided that he wanted to check out some of the shops on the alley. We hung out with him for a while, but most of us split off to the tavern eventually. It turned out to be a bust, though – me and Ezmerelda's friends weren't even there. Also, Rictavio kind of got lead away by someone in a Force Grey uniform. When the agent told Rictavio that he was being summoned by the Blackstaff, I knew what it was for; I was half-convinced that Rictavio was going to end up in jail by the end of the day. It ended up being fine for the most part. When Rictavio returned a couple hours later, he told us that the Blackstaff had summoned "everyone who matters" – namely, a bunch of notable spellcasters, minus the absent Mordenkainen – to discuss everyone's new mirror-dwelling friend. Rictavio had kept quiet about what he knew during the meeting, but something must've betrayed him (his face, if I had to guess); afterward, the Blackstaff pulled him aside and asked what he knew. He denied having any knowledge to share, and – for some reason – the Blackstaff let him go. Rictavio seems convinced that he's not going to be arrested regardless of if the Blackstaff finds out the truth. I told him that maybe he should come clean, then, since the Blackstaff could probably use some of her many resources to help with the situation – but he maintained that Mordenkainen can take care of it. The rest of the day met us with much less excitement. We did run into Escher – he's been doing well, as has his jewelry-making. He even had some rings and necklaces to give us. I guess I forgot to mention that Escher has been in Waterdeep, because Skoll and Nia were pretty surprised to see him. Nia in particular was surprised to hear that Ezmerelda's friends funded his schooling with a tavern's income, which is something I hadn't considered before; but it makes a little more sense when you consider that the bar is a hub for the Zhentarim. I imagine that their income isn't entirely on the books. Escher asked if any of us were interested in joining a guild. I hadn't really thought about it before then, but I realized that I would _have_ to be a part of at least the Carpenters' Guild if I want to build a house in Waterdeep. When I told Escher as much, he offered to take me to the guildhall – nice of him, even though I could definitely make it there on my own. In other news, I'm pretty sure Yesper has a crush on a couple of our new neighbors; he wants us to swing by to meet them tomorrow. I've been trying not to make fun of him too hard. But that was my day. In a couple days, it's off to the guildhall; for now, I'm going to continue enjoying being able to relax. --- ## Page Tags/Properties **Tags:** #Journal **Category:** Journals and Writings **Character:** Krue **Campaign:** City of Eyes **Date (Harptos):** 04/29/1493
