<< 21 Tarsakh 1493 | 25 Tarsakh 1493 >> ## 22 Tarsakh 1493 I didn't find myself in Elysium this morning; when I woke up, it was in the Uluvin inn room, and Ezmerelda was there next to me. Who knew that not being unwillingly transported to a hell dimension would feel so nice? After breakfast, Skoll announced his intention to visit Hati's domain in the Feywild to stop his eviction. Rictavio said that he was going with; Selise insisted that the rest of us go as well. I wasn't too excited about the prospect of another trip to the Feywild, but it's not like I was about to leave the others without my protection. Plus, Selise assured us that Hati's domain – which she had visited with Ireena back when me, Skoll, and Nia were stuck in Prismeer – was fine. So Rictavio planeshifted us all – with the exception of the kids, Amelia (who wasn't at breakfast), and Isabella (who wouldn't leave her room) – into the domain known as Miracolo. The first thing I noticed about the place was how pretty it was. We found ourselves on a clean beach that met crystal-clear water. There were vines and foliage everywhere. There was a pool at the center of the island. Hati was basking in the water, in his true form: a huge-ass dragon. He started with his usual bullshit in record time. Skoll told him that he had to be polite or he wasn't getting any help. Somehow, it was enough to shut him up. We hung out for a bit while Hati notified his ex that "negotiations" were about to start. Eventually, a shark that was way too big to be a shark swam up to the island. A woman stepped out of its mouth. The woman – the other archfey of the place, we'd find out – introduced herself as La Fata. She had butterfly wings and antennae, and her clothes made her look like an unfolding flower. She also had a staff with a blackbird atop its handle. As she approached, the blackbird tweeted at us. It was all very whimsical. La Fata listed off our names, which didn't make me feel any better about being there. Then, she focused on Skoll. She asked Skoll what was "going on" with him. Despite the vagueness of the question, Skoll seemed to recognize what she was asking. He explained the origins of his many physical quirks. La Fata asked Skoll if he's happy with these aspects of himself, which he waffled about; so, after a pause, she asked Skoll what he _wants_ to look like. Skoll said that he's tired of cutting his hair, that the antlers are kind of annoying, and that the only parts of his appearance he actually enjoys are that which he got from me and Nia (namely, the feathers and streaks of black in his hair along with his yellow eyes). La Fata asked for Skoll's permission to "prune" him. Hati was an asshole about it – the antlers and the moss in Skoll's hair are his doing – but Skoll said yes anyway. La Fata lightly touched her staff to his head; then, Skoll transformed. First, he shed his antlers; then the greenery fell out of his hair until it was blond. Next, his skeletal features briefly became visible before fading away. Finally, he grew until he was a few inches taller. When all was said and done, Skoll looked… normal, for lack of a better word – it was ironically kind of strange. But Skoll seemed happy with the changes, which is the important thing. I had no idea that Skoll was interested in that kind of physical transformation; neither did anyone else. We had all kind of assumed that he put deliberation into being a swamp thing. When we asked Skoll about it, he said that he thought only women could make those kinds of changes. I feel a little bad for finding that as funny as I did, but I figure that there's no harm done at this point; La Fata gave him "transformative herbs" and everything. La Fata turned to me next. I was caught off guard, and question surprised me even more – she asked if I wanted to be turned back into an owlfolk. The truth is that I never thought I would be offered the opportunity to be an owlfolk again. I was surprised at how quickly the answer came to me, but there's no denying that me and Ezmerelda were able to get much closer after I became a human. I would never want to give that up, despite how tough it's been adjusting to a wingless life. La Fata asked if I wanted any other physical changes or transformative solutions; she offered me the same stuff that Ezmerelda takes. I told her that I'm not interested; I'm not exactly used to common conceptions of the human body in relation to gender – and Ezmerelda seems to like how I look, which is pretty much all I care about. Ezmerelda declined La Fata's offer as well, since she's taking care of it herself; Nia and Selise were in a similar boat. Nia did ask for her bones back. La Fata just gave her new ones – they aren't hollow, so Nia's happy. La Fata ended up handing Nia the bones she had just replaced, which prompted Rictavio to force us all to take one of Nia's hollow bones – "just in case." But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure whether the hollow bones would even _count_ as Nia's bones for the purposes of resurrection at this point. Whatever. I took a thumb in any case. Ireena asked to be an inch smaller; La Fata obliged. She also gave Ireena components for the same "transformative solution" she had offered to me. For his part, Porter wanted some meat on his bones. He didn't know what he wanted to look like, so he just started pointing to people – that's how he ended up with his own bone structure, Yesper's hair, Skoll's eyes, and Rictavio's everything else. He kind of looks like he could be Rictavio's brother now. Rictavio himself wasn't interested in any physical transformations, which I found a little surprising – I figured he'd ask to be taller, given the fact that he wears lifts all the time. Even more surprising than that, though, was the fact that Rictavio has considered his own gender in the past (he called himself a "researched male," which is probably the most hilarious thing he could've said). But I guess it makes sense – he _has_ been surrounded by transgender people on all sides for like, decades. Yesper was last in line. He seemed confused that La Fata was talking to him at all, and it only got worse when La Fata asked him what was "going on" with him, just as she had with Skoll. He went a long time without answering. Eventually, La Fata basically just told him to take some time to think about his physical presentation. This caused Yesper to freak the fuck out. He managed to stay calm in La Fata's presence; but as soon as we were back on Toril, he was asking everyone he could about his hair. He said that he wasn't going for "girlishness" with its length, and he only got defensive when I asked if he was going for "boyishness" instead. In other words, Yesper has some introspection to do. Back in Miracolo, La Fata thanked us for visiting like she didn't fix our whole shit. Skoll seemed to remember his purpose, then, because he started defending Hati; miraculously, La Fata decided to listen to Skoll instead of just kicking us all out. But she only agreed to let Hati stay after Skoll promised to keep him out of trouble. Hati staying is also contingent on the idea that he'll refrain from annoying her, so I'm not sure he'll be staying long at all. Hati was appreciative in any case. We said goodbye to him and La Fata, and then – with a wave of La Fata's staff – we were back in Uluvin, in front of the inn. I've just been hanging out since then. I need my rest; we leave for Waterdeep tomorrow, and I have a lot of driving ahead of me. I'm just hoping that Ezmerelda manages to relax about it. --- ## Page Tags/Properties **Tags:** #Journal **Category:** Journals and Writings **Character:** Krue **Campaign:** City of Eyes **Date (Harptos):** 04/22/1493
