I’m surprised I managed to get it done, with all the time I spent looking for a rock for Skoll. It was a really, really cool rock – and I knew it had to be to suit my purposes. Skoll had been holding onto that solid gold disk he swiped from the abbey in Krezk, and it was clear that he had no intention of selling it. I was upfront with my trade; I wasn’t trying to swindle him or anything. I told him that the disk was probably worth a lot of money, and that I wanted to sell it and split the profit between me, him, and Nia. Skoll agreed – he’s nice like that. Plus, I did a damn good job of picking out a rock. It was quiet here today. Ireena kept me company for a bit, when I wasn’t looking for a rock – but she mostly stayed inside. And I don’t think Ezmerelda would sit around with me if I paid her to. Skoll and Nia have been off in Vallaki for most of the day to do some trading – Skoll in a disguise, Nia in her human skin. For the first time since arriving in Barovia, I felt lonely. I never used to get lonely – not even in the Yuriwood, alone in my cabin. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me.
